Ergonomic comfort is our business, so we know people do their best work when they feel supported.
That’s why we were delighted to donate eight refurbished ergonomic chairs to Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire, as they moved into their new Advice Centre in Yate, just a short distance from Ergochair HQ.
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is the largest advice charity in the area and help local people navigate everything from household finances to housing and benefits.
Like many frontline charities, demand has been rising, and their move to a new centre is about creating the space to help more people, face-to-face, when it matters.
A practical donation that makes a real difference
Office moves are expensive, and the final pieces of the puzzle often come down to basics like chairs, desks, the building essentials that make a service usable and welcoming.
The charity was fundraising for the remaining elements of the move, and we were proud that our donation helped them stretch their budget further.
These were previously owned chairs we received after fitting out another organisation, the kind of furniture that too often ends up written off.
But instead of sending them to landfill, our team reupholstered and restored them like new, ready for their next chapter.
Zero chairs to landfill
This is exactly what we mean by Zero Chairs to Landfill. It means that when businesses buy Ergochairs, we collect their old chairs – assess, refurbish where possible, and rehome, extending product life and reducing waste.
It’s not glamorous work – but we know it’s the right thing for materials and products already in circulation, making sure good seating doesn’t become needless waste.
A quick thank you to Claire Young MP for connecting Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire with Ergochair.
And to the Citizens Advice team. We were genuinely glad to play a small part in your move, and we hope the chairs help create a comfortable, supportive environment for the people doing vital work for our community.
