Ergochair and Sustainability

We want to be a business our families can be proud of.

UN Climate Pledge

Ergochair was the first UK furniture manufacturer to commit to meet The Climate Pledge’s net-zero target by 2040 – alongside some of the world’s biggest brands and businesses – and we measure and report progress as part of that commitment.

Ergochair and Sustainability

We sweat the small stuff

We’re committed to cutting carbon and waste where we can, how we power our site, how we package and ship products, and how we make smart choices that help materials go further.

Renewable energy

We run our factory on 100% renewable electricity, with on-site solar generation.

Smarter resource use

We design for durability and long-term use, and we back that up with repair, refurbishment and take-back routes that help products stay in circulation and out of landfill.

Packaging

Our packaging is designed to be 100% recyclable and we prioritise recycled, second-life materials wherever possible, including infill, to reduce virgin inputs.

Supply chain

Responsible practice has to extend across our supply chain too. That means setting clear expectations, choosing partners carefully, and taking issues seriously when they’re raised.

Cutting travel emissions

We’re moving towards lower-impact travel and operations, including electric vehicle adoption within the business, and we’re always reviewing how we plan journeys and deliveries to reduce unnecessary miles.
