Emma came to Ergochair because standard seating was no longer working for her.
Getting in and out of her current chair was becoming dangerous, and there were a couple of contact points that had begun to cause significant discomfort.
Certain medical conditions meant she needed a chair designed around her unique needs – we knew we could help, so we couldn’t wait to meet her.
Starting with the person
Emma visited us so we could learn more about her. We took detailed measurements and looked at how she was sitting and where the pressure was building throughout the day – to see what we could offer.
The answer was a combination of bespoke modifications and carefully chosen support features, each designed around Emma’s specific needs.
A tailored Adapt 630
We delivered Emma’s Adapt 630 and installed it in her workstation at home, with movement and swivel locks so she can stabilise the base and seat to get in and out safely.
The seat foam was sculpted to relieve pressure in those sensitive contact areas – including a bespoke cut-out and a VE memory foam layer to create a softer, more supportive pocket.
Additional features included adjustable armrests, neck support and air cells specifically positioned to support Emma’s posture.
The difference
With the right support in the right places, Emma can now sit and work in comfort. But the impact goes beyond work. When a chair reduces strain during the day, it leaves you with more energy for everything else.
Personal ergonomics
Emma’s chair shows how a combination of specialist assessment, deep seating expertise and carefully considered adaptations can create meaningful life change.
Some features were highly bespoke, like the sculpted seat foam. Others were simple specification decisions.
The personal story makes it special for us. We helped Emma sit more comfortably, work more effectively, and feel safer using her chair every day.
